Biography
Pamela Tinkham, MSW, LCSW is a licensed Psychotherapist and a Health Fitness Specialist from the American College of Sports Medicine. She holds a BA in Dance from Butler University and a MSW from Fordham University. Pamela performed professionally in dance and musical theatre productions before she decided to become a fitness trainer in 1992. She began training at New York Sports Clubs and later developed her own personal training/life coaching business. Throughout the years of training and coaching people, Pamela felt that the physical elements of getting people in shape were not enough. There was a mental health and spiritual piece that were missing from her training business. Pamela then decided to pursue her MSW in 2001 so that she could be qualified to handle the many emotional issues that her clients were discussing with her. She obtained her Clinical Social Work License in New York State and Connecticut, which enabled her to go into private practice and to also supervise beginning therapists. Pamela works as a Psychotherapist, Life Coach, Supportive Counselor, Relationship Counselor, Weight Control Coach, and Fitness Trainer.
In 2007, Pamela created Mind Body Fitness, LLC which is a company that incorporates fitness coaching with mental health. Pamela runs her business out of Greenwich, CT. Please view the "Core Practice Areas" for more information.
Pamela became a Reiki Master in 2009 and uses Reiki as an adjunct treatment to helping people get through difficult times. Reiki can be helpful if you are stuck in an area of your life and need the energy to flow. It can also help you get through disease, sickness, and physical injury with a sense of calm and spirit. "I try to work with each client holistically where the mind, body and spirit are paid close attention to. I go wherever there is an opportunity for growth and I continue to encourage my clients to follow their dreams, their passions, and their hearts".
